Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich alpha build Installation On HTC Leo HD2 : Tutorial– Android Open Source Project (AOSP) was given the source code of Android 4.0 ICS few days back and there are many attempts going on for porting Ice Cream Sandwich on to smartphones that are latest as well as most popular. In previous article we have also seenHow to Root Samsung Galaxy Nexus on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and now in this article you will be learning about how to install Android 4.0.1 ICS alpha build on HTC HD2.
In receiving port for ICS, HTC HD2 is among the devices of first batch. The release of HTC Leo : HD2 was in 2009 and still there is a good response for this smartphone. Along with Android it can also run on Windows Phone 7 and it came along with Windows Mobile 6.5originally. Depending upon your interest, Ice Cream Sandwich installation can be done on HTC HD2 now. As the ICS build is in Alpha stage there are few features which might work like : Camera, Audio, USB mass storage and 3G data connection. I don’t recommend this installation as all the basic features are being abandoned. So until a beta build shows up it is better to stay away from this installation.
The features that are working are CM3602 Light sensor, CM3602 Proximity sensor, AK8973 Orientation sensor, AK8973 3-axis Magnetic field sensor, BMA150 3-axis Accelerometer, Compass, Charging, Vibration, TouchScreen, SMS, GPS with AGPS support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi. So though many features are working, there is still a lack of basic features.
